Children’s Ministry

Jesus said, “let the little children come to Me…” Children are important to God so children are important to us!

Each Child Is:

  • conceived by the will of God
  • precious in God’s sight & deeply loved by Him
  • born knowing how to sin, and starts using that knowledge very early in life!
  • needs to be saved!

By faith in Jesus as Savior, children can be forgiven and cleansed from their sin and become part of God’s family. The Holy Spirit will then live in that child and grow that child into the image of Christ.

Basic approach to Ministry

The words of God in Deuteronomy 6, make it clear that God gives parents the responsibility of educating, training and nurturing their children in the things of God. God has given the church the task of assisting parents.

Our Children’s Ministry seeks to offer parents this assistance and support through a variety of weekly programs including Nursery, Sunday School, and Children’s Worship, and also through various special short term programs.

Weekly Year-round Ministry Descriptions

The Nursery seeks to be a safe and loving place for little children to be cared for while their parents are in the Worship Service and Sunday School.

Children’s Sunday School seeks to be a place for children age 24 months through 5th grade to learn to know God.

  • Classes are divided by age groups.
  • Teachers are carefully guided and equipped to teach God’s Word in appropriate ways for the purpose of bringing life change in their students.
  • Curriculum is chosen and adapted to ensure that children accurately learn the truths of God’s Word and correctly apply them to their lives.
  • Music, crafts, and games and activities are designed to enhance the learning and make the message stick.

Children’s Worship seeks to grow young worshipers pleasing to God. The focus of this unique program is to help children, age 4 through 2nd grade, develop

  • Worship attitudes by teaching them about God’s character, names and attributes and guiding them in praising and worshiping God together.
  • Worship skills by teaching them to listen, pray, sing, and respond to God’s word by writing or drawing appropriate responses in their own special bulletin.
  • Music comprehension by explaining the words of the various songs used in our worship services.
  • Prayer skills and attitudes by teaching them how to pray for others.
  • Outward focus by teaching them about the missionaries we support and about Christians and the persecuted church around the world.
  • Sermon attentiveness by having short sermons from Bible passages not normally covered in Sunday School. Children learn to use their Bibles, listen and apply the teaching to their lives, and draw something on their bulletin to help them remember what they learned.
